Every rooftop in Barcelona will happily charge you €16 for a cocktail and call the view the main course. Most of them are not worth it. These are the three that earn it, plus the three cocktail bars I’d head to after, when the sun is gone and the drink has to carry the night.
My take: La Terraza de Anna is one of my favorite rooftop bars in central Barcelona, especially if you're already exploring Passeig de Gràcia. The cocktails are the main attraction, but the Mediterranean small plates make it easy to turn drinks into a relaxed evening. I recommend making a reservation around sunset, when the views are at their best and the atmosphere feels lively without becoming too crowded.
My take: If you're looking for one of the best skyline views in Barcelona, Azimuth is hard to beat. Perched on top of the Almanac Hotel, it's a great place to enjoy a beer or cocktail while taking in panoramic views of the city and surrounding rooftops. We stopped here in the late afternoon to watch the sunset, and it quickly became one of my favorite places to unwind after a day of exploring.
My take: After a busy day exploring Barcelona, Rooftop Garden was the perfect stop to unwind with an evening cocktail. Surrounded by greenery and sweeping views across the city, we shared a few Mediterranean plates and drinks while taking in the atmosphere. I'd plan on spending a couple of hours here because once you're settled in, it's hard to leave.
My take: Especiarium delivers some of the most creative cocktails I had in Barcelona. Every drink feels thoughtfully crafted, and the bartenders are happy to recommend something based on what you normally enjoy. It's definitely one of the more unique cocktail bars I've experienced.
My take: I'm always trying to find the best speakeasy when traveling, and Monk definitely checked the box. Hidden behind an unassuming entrance, it opens up into a stylish cocktail bar that's well worth seeking out. We stopped in for a couple of drinks before dinner, and it ended up being one of the most memorable bars we visited in Barcelona.
My take: We originally planned on stopping in for one drink, but Número Tres quickly changed those plans. Between the creative cocktails and relaxed atmosphere, it turned into one of those places where you lose track of time. I'd happily come back on every trip to Barcelona.
If you are here because you are plotting your next meal, your next city, or your next excuse to book a flight, welcome. You are exactly who I made this for.
Say hi, ask a question, or just talk food. I'm always happy to hear from people who eat the way I do.
